Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) and the Press Club Belarus cordially invite you to join us for the online presentation of the fifth edition (the second in 2023) of our quarterly report, the Belarus Change Tracker. Belarus is currently experiencing its most tumultuous period since gaining independence. The ongoing war in Ukraine, the unresolved internal political crisis of 2020, persistent mass repressions, unprecedented foreign sanctions, and international isolation have all converged into a “perfect storm” for the country.

This situation presents numerous challenges for researchers, as it becomes increasingly difficult to identify sustainable and relatively long-term trends amidst the controlled flow of information.

In order to tackle this challenge head-on, a team of five Belarusian experts has come together to produce the quarterly analytical report, the Belarus Change Tracker. These experts include:

  • Pavel Slunkin, a visiting fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations
  • Artyom Shraibman, a political analyst and founder of the Sense Analytics consultancy
  • Philipp Bikanau, an independent sociologist
  • Henadz Korshunau, the program director of the Belarusian Academy and senior analyst at the Center for New Ideas
  • Lev Lvovskiy, the academic director at BEROC

The report’s analytical “highlight” is an exclusive quarterly opinion poll that allows us to capture shifts in public opinion across various segments of Belarusian society.

The report will be presented on June 15th at 7 PM Minsk time, which is also 7 PM Vilnius and Kyiv time, and 6 PM Warsaw time.

The working languages for the presentation will be Belarusian, Russian, and English, with simultaneous interpretation available.
