Wage growth to slowdown in Belarus

In June 2016, dollar wages in Belarus increased in comparison with May 2016 by USD 1.9 up to USD 371.2. In the past four month, wage growth was minimal due to the weakening of the Belarusian rouble amid anticipated weakening of the Russian rouble against the US Dollar. Enterprises, which mainly export to the Russian market, are likely to report a reduction in profits. Growth in nominal wages is likely to curb, including in the public sector. In addition, an employment decline is likely in the economy and an increase in part-time employees. USD 400 median wage is unlikely in Belarus in 2016, so as the resumption of economic growth.
