’Tell the Truth’ attempts dialogue with authorities
Last week, former presidential candidate Tatiana Karatkevich met with Chairman of the House Committee on Human Rights, National Relations and Mass Media Andrei Naumovich. Previously, ex-presidential candidate Karatkevich met with representatives of seven of the fourteen parliamentary commissions. Traditionally, opposition parties and opposition-minded part of the society have been indifferent about her meetings with representatives of the National Assembly. Meanwhile, the Belarusian opposition includes a new generation, which has never been in power, and has minimum contacts with public officials and dim views on how the state apparatus works. In addition, contacts between the opposition and members of the parliament could create conditions and atmosphere for the initiation of a dialogue between the opposition and the authorities.
