Tennis player Victoria Azarenka and Olympic champion in biathlon Darya Domrachava de-facto used in the presidential campaign of Lukashenka

A 20-minute long piece in night state TV’s news program was dedicated to the incumbent president of Belarus signing application of the National Olympic Committee to participate in the Summer Olympic Games in Brazil. Tennis player Victoria Azarenka, biathlon Olympic champion Darya Domrachava, and freestyle Olympic champion Anton Kushnir were all present at the event.

The Belarusian athletes should perform at high level at Olympic Games 2016.

This was stated by the President as he was visiting the National Olympic Committee. Less than a year remains before the start of the thirty-first Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. It is planned that the Belarusians will be able to get about 150 licenses. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that it will be a serious test for every athlete, coach and for the entire sport industry. So, he personally and the whole people of Belarus have the right to expect results.

In addition, along with the champions and runners-up of games Darya Domracheva, Anton Kushnir, Victoria Azarenka and many others, Alexander Lukashenko laid the Olympic Avenue. The head of the state personally planted a tree, and then informally talked with athletes and coaches.
