Vladimir Putin wishes success to Aliaksandr Lukashenka at presidential election

“The presidential election in Belarus will proceed without a hitch.” – President of Russia Vladimir Putin made the statement as he met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in Sochi on 18 September, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Putin said he believes that the presidential election would proceed perfectly and in full compliance with Belarusian and international standards.

A presidential election campaign is always a very responsible and complicated stage in the life of any country, noted the President of Russia. Vladimir Putin said he was aware of the fact that the OSCE ODIHR mission and the CIS mission had started monitoring the election process in Belarus. Russia is represented in both groups. Vladimir Putin wished success to his Belarusian counterpart.
