Opposition activists call to boycott ’farce’
Opposition activists which don’t take part in the current election campaign made a statement in which they called the first part of the election campaign “a farce” and demanded free and fair elections.
The opposition activists underline that “the elections in Belarus as a democratic institute of changing power are destroyed by the country’s authorities and are a false imitation”. The activists also called for new elections held by OSCE standards which would “make way for a civilized democratic development of the country”.
Those supporting the statement include United Civic Party’s head Anatol Lyabedzka, his deputy Leu Marholin, “Fair World” party leader Siarhei Kaliakin, ex-presidential candidates Vital Rymasheuski and Uladzimir Niakliajeu, and Iryna Veshtard from Belarusian
