The Central Election Commission of Belarus has received registration applications from 142 international observers, BelTA learned from Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina.

At present 70 observers represent the OSCE mission while 72 observers represent the CIS mission, said the source.

The official also reminded that potential candidates for the Belarus presidency are supposed to notify the CEC about their agreement to run for the presidential post on 5 September at the latest. “So far the Central Election Commission has received two agreements as well as the sets of relevant documents from potential candidates — Tatiana Nikolayevna Korotkevich and Sergei Vasilyevich Gaidukevich,” said the official.
