New coalition of the Belarusian opposition headed by Mikalai Statkevich holds press-conference
The press-conference of the new coalition of the Belarusian opposition announced on Friday did bring some update on the presidential campaign-2015. The list of participants included Mikalai Statkevich and Vladimir Neklyaev, ex-presidential candidates of 2010, Anatoly Lebedzka, the Chair of the United Civil Party, and Pavel Sevyarynets, the co-Chair of the organizational committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party. Thus, Nikolai Statkevich is claimed to remain the candidate since 2010, although he himself denies the legitimacy of the current campaign. What would help Belarus if Europe would accept local elections after all and where opposition candidates can look for extra funding were among the hot topics as well.
