Regions: flooding monitoring, rescuers work
The Emergency Ministry is prepared for spring floods. In some regions water levels are higher than the long-time average, but water logs are local and under control.
Many regions have successfully overcome the flooding peak. The flood situation is quiet in the Grodno and Minsk regions. Traditionally, the situation in Polessie is more complicated. However, in the Southern regions the ice on rivers has completely melted, peaking on April 21st– 22. Vitebsk and Mogilev regions face high flooding risks. Ministry of Emergencies is said to be prepared for the flooding. Rescue efforts will also be assisted by rapid reaction units of the Belarusian Red Cross Society. The flooded regions are supplied with food and hygiene kits with disinfectants, liquid soap, napkins. OSVOD Rescuers also take part in helping to overcome the consequences of the flooding.
