Press Club Belarus is one year old! Next meeting of Belarusian journalists in Warsaw.

22nd June 2012, Krakowskie Przedmieście 64 (Dom Polonii)

One year ago in Warsaw, Press Club Belarus was set up. Since then, Press Club Belarus has become a place for informal meetings for journalists with diplomats, cultural activists, and other interesting people.

Among the club’s founders – exclusively Belarusian – are well-known journalists, editors and publishers of independent Belarusian media: Yuliya Slutskaya (Solidarity with Belarus Information Office, former editor-in-chief of Komsomolskaya Pravda v Belarusi), Zmitser Novikau (European Radio for Belarus, director), Alyaksandr Starikevich (Salidarnost, editor-in-chief), Ales Lipay (BELAPAN independent news agency, director), Alyaksandr Ulitsyonak (Svobodnie Novosti, editor-in-chief), Alyaksei Dzikavitski (Belsat TV, editor-in-chief, news department), Piotr Martsau (Belaruskaya Delovaya Gazeta, editor in chief), Viktar Martsinovich (Belaruskaya Gazeta, deputy editor).

According to international press club rules, a press club can exist only in countries where there is freedom of speech. For this reason, Press Club Belarus is present today in Warsaw. This Belarusian media initiative is supported by Press Club Polska which has kindly made its premises available for meetings with Belarusian journalists in Warsaw over the past year.

The next Press Club Belarus meeting will take place on 22nd June at 17.00. Chief editors of leading Belarusian independent media will be present. The meeting will take place, as usual, at Krakowskie Przedmieście 64 (Dom Polonii).

We warmly welcome you to join us for an informal chat over a glass of wine. English and Polish translation will be available.
