Liquefied petroleum gas prices for households rise

Economy Ministry of Belarus raised the price of liquefied gas sold to the population in bottles by 23%. Moreover, as of 1 August the retail prices of liquefied petroleum gas sold at petrol stations will increase by 24%.

This is the second time the gas price is being increased this year: in April it was increased by 35%.

Comment

The government started raising gas prices, which is inevitable, given increased purchase price of gas and the devaluation. The first ones to face the increased price for gas were vacationers, residents of villages (who use liquefied petroleum gas) and motorists. The following price increase will affect the rest of the population, as before the heating season starts the authorities need to raise gas, electricity and heating prices.
